Uhhhh Damn you fil, you know I have a soft spot for that old White SG don’t you lol. I’m glad you broke it out. To my ears it has a slightly thinner” sound and it sounds really cool for various things. It’s a 67 is it not? When I was buying my vnitage SG’s I did not have the fortune of finding a guitar like that one in white, don’t see many of them out of the case. TBH I think people prefeer the sound of other years therefore making this one obscure….fine by me…now if to only find one as cool as yours.

I love the new camera view with the white
SG Custom you should use it more often ,,, Good job

“Couldn’t care less”? Ive become a Solonet Stalker since the Vega quest started.

I like the “Solonet”

Ha Ha You have my permission to use it.

Wow! Great tune Fil. So cheerful. I was waiting till the end of the clip to see you on the drum set also
about 1 year ago
Hehe I was going to ask when you planned on plugging in your Gretsch again.
Sounds great, was fun to play along with.
One can see here, you’re a real musician. Very cool video Fil, you can be proud
The ElevenRack seems to be a cool piece of Hard/Software. Especially because it makes the recoding work much easier. On the other side, I won’t miss the feeling of having a real Marshall back at me
about 1 year ago
Wow Fil, you really busted out just about everything to make this video. The little nuances of each guitar are there too, assuming you didnt change the settings between guitars too much
Its totally badass to see the Gretsch and the bass come out from behind the camera, that really makes everything feel super complete.
I would really love to see you do a tutorial along the lines of how you solo like you do in this video. Like, I can compose little diddily-bits on the rhythm and complete that, but if I put a solo in there, I only know two or three places on the neck that I can really use for any given key. I write little lullabies and such for my friends here at college, and I always record the soft rhythm and background with my gretsch, and then often put a short flow-y solo over part of it, but its never as versatile as I would like it to be. Even if it was just a video of your hands with no talking, I would much appreciate it.

Also, do I hear an acoustic or the Dusk Tiger way in the distance?
Wow, YES bravo! Dusk was in there too. I used it as a tambourine lol (/32th strumming). And I have been meaning to do a tutorial about soloing for years… now that we have sd.net, I will do it here
about 1 year ago
Awesome! Take your time though, I know you are a busy man, what with us demanding users
about 1 year ago
Ah ha!
I thought I heard a far off Acoustic or something in there some where, give’s it more depth.

Hey Fil, I’ve had a go working out the chords; is it “A-G note-A-G-D-G-D” (x12), followed by “C-G-D” (x2), then the whole thing repeated, and finally ending on an A chord?
Sorry if it’s horribly wrong or I’ve confused you, I’m still a newbie trying to train his ears at this stage.
Alex, no need to be sorry. There’s no uber skill here at solodallas. All hard work. You are actually… spot on!
A (chord) G (note) bend towards A (note) then play A (chord)
G (chord) D (Chord) – G G (chords and number of strums) D , etc.
Then there’s
E F# (notes) G (chord) D (chord) A (chord)
Then chorus (lol) is
C (chord – done open C hord on left guitar; power chord on right guitar) G (chord) D (chord) A (chord) and right away, C A C A C (notes) A (chord) and then repeat
about 1 year ago
Gah, I knew there was an A chord in the chorus, but I thought it just sounded good with the progression instead of being there! Lol, oh well, I’m sure I’ll get better with practice.

Wow, I am definately going to learn this. Best thing I’ve heard/seen all day
I swear, at the beginning I was like “Hm, what song is he covering this time? Sounds familiar…” only to find out it was an original xD You have captured the feeling and soul of AC/DC very well, I only hope that I can achieve the same thing too.
Gretschpower Fil!!! GRETSCHPOWER!!!! xD
Great!! About time u use it again!!! =)=)
lol hi bro, I actually “composed” (makes me laugh) the whole thing with the Gretsch. It’s my go-to guitar for “inventing” things
about 1 year ago
great to hear that! The soul of rockn roll in this guitar! And staying in the background seems to be usual for this axe! ^^
about 1 year ago
excellent, just excellent! Killer production! I love this, man, I can’t stop watching it!
How did you make the drums??
thanks Mati
Actually, the drums is the only thing I didn’t do: it’s a free loop of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” I found on the net.
If you listen to it, the drums are You Shook Me All Night Long’s!

Great one Fil! Love the groove!
Great stuff! The kind of riff that repeats inside my head a long time after the song is done (always a good thing in my book).
How funky are you on the bass man! Listening loudly through my stereo and it’s catchy alright. Can see me lying in bed later with dadada___da__dum dum da da da da keeping me awake, thank you!
Thank you Sir
I always loved the bass playing. Tough as hell. This one’s is a beast, too. Weighs as much as a huge piece of luggage lol back hurts lol
about 1 year ago
Gotta love that gretsch Fil! Also nice to see that white custom sg make an appearence. eleven rack seems like a winner to me!
Fil that’s really cool. I like the use of so many different guitars in this one!!!!!
Kinda weird to see you with the sweet bass in you hands though.
Loved it!
Awesome!
Love this kinda stuff Fil,(An original I assume?) Software sounds great, very Amplike.
Hi bud, yes, all original. I guess we can say this is fully me
about 1 year ago
Well,
It fully kicks ass
Much like your stuff from old channel, used to play them on my iPod all the time before my hard drive was wiped, lol.
I really like your original material, hope to hear more of it and some stuff from your new band (by the way, how’s that working out so far,if you don’t mind my asking?)
Damn Fil, I’ve never said it, but man, You’ve got some skills there (guitar playing, video/audio editing, sound engeneering…)
The Rack sounds awesome, btw
Thanks Dave
Yes it’s a lot of technology lol But I always liked technology since I was a little boy. Technology and guiats. And women lol
about 1 year ago
PS I always liked tons the rack. For me, it’s the best modeler out there, surpassing by heaps Guitar Rig and even the more expensive AxeFX. But it’s my personal opinion only
I have to say it really sounds astonishing. I couldn’t tell it from real Marshalls here. The new speaker breakup function is superb. They are incredible people.

Just want to thank you for your work and effort… I learned a lot from you….thank you

I can only thank you back for being here with me!
Well done brother!
I hope all’s great with you
Hi bro’, yes I am very well thank you
We’re all well thank god. Do you like this song? Maybe because of the fact that “it’s a son of mine” lol but I really like. Many have always asked what was my personal style, and this is it
about 1 year ago
I do. And I like much the song: that riff is stuck in my head. lol
Are you busy (maybe a stupid question huh)? I’m just asking because I didn’t receive any answers on a few emails (I think two). I was a little afraid you might be tired of me
about 1 year ago
TIRED OF YOU? (slaps himself on the face). You are a friend of mine mate
Sorry! I was only too busy with too many things. Running around like a headless chicken lol Sorry bro’
about 1 year ago
Lol. I understand you entirely, so I don’t blame you at all
And I prefer you focus on the playing (and recording) instead
